  • Title: SEN Mental Health Teaching Assistant
  • Salary: £450 - £525 per week
  • Start Date: ASAP or September
  • Contract: Long-term, 5 days a week, 8:30 - 16:30, early finish on Fridays

About the School

Located in Milton Keynes, the school supports boys and girls aged 7-19 with social, emotional, and mental health needs. It employs a restorative, therapeutic approach to education and behaviour management, focusing on developing personal and key skills for life beyond school.

Responsibilities
  • Work in classes of 3-6 pupils with a staff-to-student ratio of 1:1
  • Support students with additional needs related to SEMH and Autism
  • Assist in delivering a curriculum that promotes social, emotional, and mental health development
Requirements
  • Undergraduate Degree (preferable) and/or previous SEN experience, especially for Criminology and Psychology Graduates
  • Understanding of how mental health and Autism affect different genders and individuals
  • Good educational background in English and Maths (5 GCSEs grade C/4 or above)
  • Interest in outside activities such as Sport, Cooking, Coding, Dance, Hairdressing, Photography to promote holistic development
  • Keen interest or understanding of diverse learning and behavioural needs, including SEMH
