Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Maidstone is seeking a full-time support worker to assist the nursing team with admission, assessment, treatment and discharge of inpatients, focusing on dignity and safety.

You will support treatments, observe patients, meet physical and emotional needs, provide group or individual activities, and maintain a safe environment. Induction and training are provided. The role requires visa eligibility; sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• DBS check (enhanced) required.
• At least 12 months remaining on current visa.

Responsibilities

• Complement and support qualified nurses in admission, assessment, treatment and discharge of inpatients.
• Support the implementation of treatments and therapy as part of the care plan.
• Carry out safe observations of patients, sometimes 1:1 or with other staff.
• Meet physical and emotional needs of service users with care and empathy.
• Provide and support individual or group activities to maintain wellbeing.
• Maintain a safe, clean and friendly environment for patients and staff.
• Work within safeguarding guidelines and procedures.
• Complete training in de-escalation and PMVA techniques.
