Job summary

Response is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to help people living with serious mental health challenges build confidence, life skills and greater independence. The role is based at Papist Way, Wallingford, with shifts including mornings, evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

You will support residents with daily living skills, foster positive relationships and help them access education, employment and community opportunities.

Qualifications

• No prior mental health experience required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to undertake training and DBS checks.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living skills, wellbeing and independence.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with residents and their networks.
• Encourage residents to achieve personal goals, education, employment and community opportunities.
• Work alongside healthcare professionals, families and support networks.
• Promote mental and physical wellbeing and create a safe, welcoming environment.
• Learn and apply therapeutic approaches including Talk Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Trauma-Informed Care.
