Job description

Support Worker - Mental Health (Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Cheshunt, Hertfordshire
Contract Type: 2 - 3 months - possibility to extend
Hours: Full Time - 37.5 hours per week (9:00am - 5:30pm)
Salary: £15-20 per hour
Driving Licence Required

Are you passionate about supporting people with mental health needs to live independently and thrive in their communities? We're looking for a dedicated Support Worker to join our team at a newly launching supported housing service in Cheshunt.

This new service will support adults with a mental health diagnosis to build the skills and confidence needed for independent living. The goal is to help residents progress toward moving on to their own homes within 3-5 years.

About the Role:
As a Support Worker, you will deliver high-quality, person-centred housing-related support. You will work with individuals to identify goals, develop life skills, and support their wellbeing. Your day-to-day work will be both rewarding and impactful as you empower residents to flourish in their community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored, strengths-based support to residents

  • Assist individuals in developing daily living skills, routines, and social confidence

  • Encourage and enable clients to work towards greater independence and community engagement

  • Work flexibly, including periods of lone working (a lone-working device will be provided)

  • Maintain accurate support plans, risk assessments, and records

  • Collaborate with local services and professionals to ensure holistic support

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with adults with mental health needs

  • A proactive, compassionate, and person-centred approach

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team

  • A valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)

  • Strong organisational and communication skills
