Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Harrogate is seeking a confident Support Worker to join our acute mental health ward for adults over 18. You’ll work 38.5 hours per week on 11-hour shifts, delivering high-quality care in a busy MDT environment.

The role emphasises compassionate, person-centred support with opportunities for learning, supervision, and a DBS check. Starting pay is £13.15 per hour, with increases after probation and at 18 months.

Qualifications

• Genuine empathy and a desire to help others.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• Ability to provide compassionate physical and emotional support.
• Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS check.

Responsibilities

• Support management and team in the day-to-day running of the service.
• Ensure duties are allocated effectively and safely.
• Provide guidance and encouragement through physical and emotional support.
• Learn about individuals’ specific needs and provide help in the most appropriate way.
• Assist with medical and welfare needs and report as required.
