We are the Cambian group, one of the largest independent providers of care and education for children and young people. We believe that everybody has a personal best and we strive to show our young people their potential.
As we celebrate the successful opening of our 4th home at Merida, we are now looking at the 5th home. An exciting opportunity has arisen in our Newmarket-based children’s homes for Residential Support Workers! We are seeking a caring and compassionate individual with a desire to help children and young people, making a positive difference in their lives.
We offer full-time contracts with an hourly rate of £12.69 - £13.31 for daytime shifts (8 am - 8:30 pm), along with 236 hours of paid annual leave per year.
Higher rates of pay are available for Team Leader and Deputy Manager positions. You will receive a monthly rota. This is a 365-day-a-year role, including Christmas, New Year, and all holidays, which is especially meaningful when celebrating with the children!
Shifts involve long hours and sleep-ins (which are essential), with hours varying depending on the home location.
You must be at least 21 years old due to Ofsted regulations. Driving is essential because of the location of the homes. No prior experience is required.
Additional benefits include a refer-a-friend scheme, enrolment in a workplace pension scheme after three months, opportunities for progression within the company, paid overtime at x1.25, a fully paid 10-day induction course, and an enhanced DBS check paid for by Cambian Group. After a six-month probation, you can enroll in NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People’s Workforce.
We value genuine, caring individuals who can create a family environment for our children. If you are calm in challenging situations, offer advice, listen actively, and show unconditional positive regard, we want to hear from you!
