Job summary

Sefton Council is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to join the Adult Community Mental Health Teams in Sefton on a fixed-term basis until 31 October 2027. This is a full-time role (36 hours per week), Monday to Friday, focused on delivering short-term, task-centred interventions and helping individuals maximise independence in their homes and local communities.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team with supervision from Social Work Managers and other qualified professionals, with

Qualifications

• Experience in care, support or mental health setting.
• NVQ Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work across multiple sites and in the community.

Responsibilities

• Deliver short-term, task-centred interventions to support individuals to build confidence and maximise independence.
• Support people to maintain choice and control over their lives and improve wellbeing within their local community.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with supervision from experienced managers.
