Job summary

Cygnet Hospital Bury Dunes is seeking a Mental Health Support Worker to provide enhanced, individual care on an adult ward. You will support patients with personality disorders and other mental health needs, offering emotional and physical support while learning each person’s requirements.

The role is full-time, 37.5 hours per week on 12-hour shifts across days, nights and weekends, with a three-week induction. An enhanced DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

• Offer enhanced care using a flexible learning approach for all service users.
• Provide guidance, encouragement and physical and emotional support.
• Learn about each person's specific needs and meet them in the most appropriate way.
• Assist with medical and welfare needs and report as required.
• Safeguard service users.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for all.
• Help to empower and support service user independence.
• Work with male and female service users on an adult ward with personality disorders and mental health issues.
