Here at Staff Partners Mental Health, we currently have a great opportunity for experienced Support Workers to work within a mental health hospital setting in Wellington.

Do you have experience supporting and caring for individuals with mental health or complex health needs?

Are you looking to enhance your experience and skill set? Our private client has Long Days and nights both available on an ongoing basis.

Whether you are interested in a full time role or just want to pick up flexible shifts.

We work with a number of units, including Child and Adolescent Mental Health, Adult Mental Health, and Older Adult Mental Health. We provide experienced Support Workers like yourself to PICU, acute and rehabilitation wards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Compliment and provide support to the qualified nurses
  • Work as part of the Multi-Disciplinary Team to support implementation of the treatments and therapy as per the service users care plans
  • To meet the physical and emotional needs of the service users in a caring and empathic manner
  • To play an active role in maintaining physical and mental wellbeing by providing and supporting individual or group work
  • Work flexibly regarding shift and ward changes according to the needs of the hospital.
  • To be aware of the core values and behaviours and use them to provide a framework for ways of working with service users and colleagues
  • Undertake any reasonable request within own competencies and understanding
