Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dynamic Mental Health Service Director to lead the MHST for Education settings in the Bury area. This senior role will oversee a multidisciplinary team delivering evidence-based mental health support to children and young people.

The role focuses on clinical and line management supervision, safeguarding, and partnership work with schools and authorities. Hybrid working with travel across the locality is expected.

Qualifications

• Registered core profession (social work, nursing) OR Child and Young Person Wellbeing Practitioner OR Educational Mental Health Practitioner registered with BABCP/BPS
• Substantial post-qualification experience within CAMHS, MHST, or adult mental health services
• Experience in clinical and line management supervision and annual appraisal
• Highly developed knowledge of mental health issues in children and young people
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and National Policies
• Knowledge of NICE guidance in treatment of mental health problems for children and young people
• Evidence of ability to lead, motivate and manage a group
• Ability to manage risk in individuals presenting with mental health needs

The national ambition is for MHSTs to be available in all education settings by the end of 2029.
