Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust in Oldham is seeking a Child & Adolescent Therapist to join the CAMHS initial assessment team. You will assess and formulate treatment plans for young people, handling urgent and routine mental health assessments and neurodevelopmental assessments.

The role requires experience in community mental health, robust assessment skills, and collaboration with education, children’s services and third sector partners.

Qualifications

  • Nursing or social work or equivalent Health/Social care qualification.
  • Professional Registration (NMC/HCPC/SW).
  • Significant post qualification experience in community mental health services to post graduate diploma level.
  • Experience of case management of young people.
  • Experience of multi-agency working.
  • Ability to undertake appropriate mental health assessments.
  • Ability to carry out therapeutic interventions with this client group.
  • Knowledge of mental health issues in young people.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and National policies in relation to young people.

  • Undertake specific work with young people and their families.

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (37.5 hours per week)

Salary: £39,959 – £48,117 per annum

This is a busy multi-disciplinary CAMHS team which includes nurses, psychologists, social workers and psychiatrists. The role will be within Oldham CAMHS initial assessment team, assessing and formulating treatment plans for young people. This will involve both urgent and routine mental health assessments alongside neurodevelopmental assessments.

  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and National policies in relation to young people

Working closely with partners in education, children's services and the 3rd sector to achieve the recently developed ambitious Local Transformation Plan for CAMHS services.
