Mental Health Support Assistant - Psychology Graduate - Education and Training - Bletchley

The Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistant (SEN LSA) role is ideal for individuals aspiring to careers in Counselling, Men’s Health, Wellbeing, Criminal Justice, Social or Youth Justice, or social care.

Job Details:
  • Title: SEN Mental Health Support Assistant
  • Location: Bletchley
  • Salary: £450-£500 per week
  • Start Date: ASAP or May, depending on availability
  • Contract: Long-term, 5 days a week, 8:30 - 16:30

Candidate Profile:
  • Previous SEN experience or a keen interest as a graduate, particularly in social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Hands-on experience working with social, emotional, and mental health needs, ideal for those interested in youth work
  • Good educational background in English and Maths (5 GCSEs grade C/4 or above)
  • Interest in extracurricular activities such as Sport, Cooking, Coding, Dance, Hairdressing, Photography to develop personal skills
  • Understanding of various learning and behavioural needs, including SEMH

The Alternative Provision in Bletchley supports boys and girls aged 5-19 with diverse additional needs related to SEMH. The school emphasizes a restorative, therapeutic approach to education and behaviour management, focusing on developing skills that benefit students both in and out of school.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work in small classes of 3-6 pupils with a staff-to-student ratio of 1:1, supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
