This Mental Health Practitioner (MHP) position is based in Chester.
We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our developing Children and Young People's (CYP) Emergency and Urgent Care team. As part of the NHS 5 Year Forward View, CWP has developed crisis response services for CYP.
We are recruiting enthusiastic and motivated clinicians for the CYP Urgent Support Team, which is part of our multidisciplinary team. We offer training, CPD, supervision, and opportunities to develop skills in this area.
The service operates 24/7 to provide crisis mental health assessments and brief interventions for CYP, in line with NHS England guidance on Urgent and Emergency Mental Health Care for CYP.
Relevant clinical experience in assessing and managing risk in mental health or social care settings is desirable but not essential, as support and development will be provided. Professional registration with HCPC, Social Work England, or NMC is required.
Responsibilities include mental health risk assessments, crisis intervention planning, safeguarding, and working collaboratively with young people, families, and external agencies. The role involves face-to-face work and liaising via the CWP Crisis Line.
The posts cover the Cheshire and Wirral area, so access to transport is essential. The role is based at Chester.
