Are you an empathetic Occupational Therapist with a keen interest in mental health?

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Band 6 Mental Health/Community Occupational Therapist to join our fantastic NHS client in Houghton Regis, Bedfordshire. This vacancy is available to start as soon as possible, offering part-time and potential full-time hours per week in a locum role. Essential Occupational therapists applying must have previous experience working with Mental health.

As an OT you will be supported by a full MDT, including Medical Director, Specialty Doctors, Psychologist and Occupational Therapy Assistants; you will also have the support of the wider OT network

Duties will include:

  • Care-coordinating
  • Contribute to the holistic assessment of physical and mental wellbeing needs.
  • Assessment and intervention of individual patients needs and progress.
  • Treating patients for a range of moderate to complex mental health conditions
  • Working with other healthcare professionals

The Successful Candidate should be/have:

  • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
  • They need to have experience of working in mental health due to the complex nature of the patients.
  • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Ability to manage highly demanding clinical presentation
