Job summary

Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant for the Centralised Health-Based Place of Safety Unit in Maidstone. You will work under supervision to provide patient-centred care, help service users engage in meaningful activities, and support recovery during assessment or inpatient admission.

Hours are 37.5 per week on a 7-day rota, including weekends and long days (7:30 am - 8:00 pm).

Qualifications

• Experience in care or mental health settings is required.
• Ability to engage with individuals, families and diverse needs.
• Plan and facilitate flexible 1:1 and small group activities.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with occupational therapists and clinical team to deliver holistic care.
• Provide compassionate care during acute distress and support recovery goals.
• Complete clinical notes and manage therapy resources; support unit operations.
