Job description

Medacs is currently partnering with a public hospital based in Victoria, located 2.5 hours north of Melbourne City, and is seeking Mental Health Nurses.

The candidate must have a degree in Mental Health Nursing or a Postgraduate qualification in Mental Health Nursing.

We are also looking for Social Workers, Mental Health OT's, or Psychologists.

The roles include:

  1. Mental Health Triage Service: The Enhanced Triage Service is a telephone-based triage service and one of two entry points into the Mental Health Program, the other being the PACER (Police, Ambulance and Clinical Emergency Response) clinician. It is crucial to the referral process across all sites requiring Mental Health Assessment. It handles all referrals into the Adult, Child and Adolescent (CAMHS) Aged Mental Health Service, and other mental health programs. This position is key to ensuring the program's efficient operation.
  2. Senior Clinician - Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service: Responsible for providing leadership and clinical care within the CARE (Comprehensive Assessment and Recovery) team, supporting the CAMHS leadership team. The role involves conducting specialist mental health assessments with young people and their families, supervising less experienced clinicians, and providing secondary consultations to community organizations serving children and adolescents. The Senior Clinician will also support the ACT (Access Community Consultation and Brief Treatment) team with urgent assessments and interventions.
  3. Senior Clinician - Acute Response - Community: Responsible for delivering senior-level clinical practice in community mental health within the Adult Community Mental Health Team. The incumbent should be proficient in acute assessment, response, and case management, serving as a resource for seamless client transitions along the mental health care continuum. The HOPE program aims to engage individuals who often do not meet service thresholds, using a trauma-informed approach and providing clinical and practical support.

What's on offer:

  • Competitive salary.
  • Open to 482 visa and 186 visa sponsorship.
  • Accommodation on arrival.
  • Up to $20K in relocation costs and resettlement support for the candidate and their family, including assistance with accommodation, schooling, childcare, and partner employment support.
