Overview

Role: Mental Health Nurse to join the Mental Health team at HMP Bure, a category C Prison located in Badersfield, Norwich. In this role you'll be working with a multi-disciplinary team that will support you and help you succeed.

Hours
Monday to Sunday - 08:00 - 18:00. The site currently operates on a 3 week rolling rota, working 4-5 days per week. There is an expectation to work 1 weekend in 3.

Salary
This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £40,211 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a Legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
  • Undertake medication rounds, and assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences
  • Assess patient\'s health needs using an evidence based framework and be able to risk assess using sound clinical knowledge
  • Work with individuals providing advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients
  • Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects liaising with prescribers as required
  • Inspire excellence by forging strong links with our partners and stakeholders
Requirements
  • NMC Registered Mental Health, or Learning Disability Nurse
  • Experience of working with patients, face to face, who have complex mental health conditions
  • Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
  • Experience of working with learning disability patients
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.
