Mental Health Nurse

Department: Mental Health Nurses

Description

You will be working with our clinical teams to deliver the best primary care healthcare service to our patients. More specifically, our Practice Nurses are responsible for the normal primary care clinical nursing duties and nursing management / administrative work.

Location

Opportunities available at sites across South East London: Kingfisher & Surrey Docks (SE8 5DA); Penrose Surgery & Maddock Way (SE17 3DW), Lewisham Medical Centre (SE13 5PJ), Deptford Surgery (SE14 6TJ), Knight's Hill Surgery (SE27 0DF) and Nightingale Surgery (SE12 8NP).

Hours: Ideally full time (weekdays)

Salary: Competitive Salary

Key Responsibilities

Clinical responsibilities include:

• Cervical screening
• Contraception, sexual health and family planning
• Child immunisations
• Seasonal and adult vaccinations
• Travel immunisations
• Long term condition management
• Wound care
• Support of health care assistants and phlebotomists

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

The right candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills for dealing with our diverse patient population, and be able to work well in a close-knit team of both clinicians and non-clinicians. Strong clinical knowledge and good analytical skills are important to ensure successful consultations.

Minimum requirements: You must have a current NMC registration, and we would ideally be looking for someone with experience working in a GP Primary Care setting. Previous experience working with EMIS also preferred but not required.
