As a Mental Health Nurse working within the team at HMP Lancaster Farms, you will work within a multidisciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options. You will undertake medication rounds, assess and treat patients who may have experienced traumatic events and may be distressed. You will assess patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and be able to perform risk assessments using sound clinical knowledge.
You will ensure that you assess the physical and mental health of prisoners on admission to the prison and throughout their custody period, so that any necessary referrals can be made. You will also be responsible for making clinical judgments regarding immediate needs and long-term treatment options.
