Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Nurse Learning Disabilities (RNLD) with a passion for delivering compassionate, person-centred care? You’ll be the heartbeat of the home, offering skilled clinical care and emotional support in equal measure. From developing bespoke care plans to leading your team through complex shifts, you’ll be an advocate, a mentor, and a safe, steady presence for residents living with mental health conditions or learning disabilities.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Build Person-Centred Care Plans: Work collaboratively with residents, families, and the wider MDT to develop and deliver tailored support for complex mental health and behavioural needs.

Lead with Purpose: Take charge of your unit, supporting and guiding the care team with confidence and clinical insight.

Monitor Mental & Physical Health: Conduct regular assessments, observe mood and behavioural changes, and proactively manage risks.

Administer Medication: Safely manage medication and treatment plans, ensuring MAR charts and documentation are always accurate and up to date.

Support Positive Behaviour: Use de-escalation techniques and a trauma-informed approach to manage challenging behaviour with sensitivity and skill.

Promote Dignity & Autonomy: Encourage independence while offering meaningful engagement and practical support in daily life.

Be the Link: Act as a key contact for families, GPs, psychiatrists, and community mental health teams ensuring continuity and clarity of care.

About You:

  • You're a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or RNLD, with a current NMC PIN.
  • You bring experience or a strong interest in working with individuals with dementia, complex mental health diagnoses, and/or behaviours that challenge.
  • You're calm under pressure, skilled in managing risk, and confident in leading a shift or acting as nurse-in-charge.
  • You communicate with empathy, compassion, and confidence whether with residents, families, or colleagues.
  • You believe that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, and kindness no matter their story.
