Job summary

Academics in Slough is seeking a compassionate Mental Health Mentor to work in a specialist school. You will provide one-to-one and small-group support to students with mental health and social-emotional needs, helping them build resilience, positive relationships and coping strategies.

This full-time, on-site role offers hands-on experience, collaboration with teachers, families and external professionals, and an ASAP start.

• Has experience supporting children or young people with mental health and/or social and emotional needs.
• Builds trusting, positive relationships with students.
• Is calm, patient, empathetic and non-judgemental.
• Can recognise when a student may need additional support and respond appropriately.

We are looking for a compassionate, approachable and resilient Mental Health Mentor to join our specialist school based in Slough.

The school supports students with a range of mental health challenges and social, emotional and behavioural needs.

Working closely with students, teachers, families and external professionals, you will provide one-to-one and small-group support, helping young people to develop emotional resilience, positive relationships, coping strategies and confidence.

The successful Mental Health Mentor will be someone who:
