Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Specialist Medicines Information Pharmacist to join our Medicines Information team in Reading. The role focuses on evidence-based guidance for medicines-related enquiries across psychiatry and multidisciplinary teams.

You will work with the Lead MI Pharmacist, contribute to formulary management, medicines optimisation, and service development, and support trainees while rotating to broaden expertise.

Qualifications

• Strong hospital pharmacy foundation and clinical reasoning required.
• Postgraduate clinical qualification and hospital experience to be considered for band 7.
• Flexible approach to meet developing needs of the pharmacy service.

Responsibilities

• Take and triage medicines-related enquiries with full information.
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice to psychiatrists and multidisciplinary teams.
• Contribute to formulary management, medicines optimisation and service development projects.
• Support trainees and staff training within Medicines Information.
• Document responses accurately for governance and future practice.
• Cover inpatient wards and participate in Emergency Duty/Late Duty rotas.
