The service operates 7 days a week over 24 hours, therefore unsocial hours, including night duty is an expectation of this post.

Applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis.In the event that permanent funding is secured for this post the successful applicant will be confirmed in post on a permanent basis.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will be a Registered Mental Health Nurse or Registered Learning Disability Nurse and have ENB 998 / C&G 730 or equivalent. Additionally, you should have evidence of continual professional learning relevant to the post.

Experience with patients with Dementia and/or self harm behaviour, patients in crisis, and skills in CBT and Brief Solution Focused Therapy would be an advantage.

You will require excellent communication skills and be able to work under pressure.

Candidates must have 18 months post qualifying experience including sign off of appropriate preceptorship or competency framework.
