Job Details

Location: Prince Philip Hospital & Glangwili General Hospital, Llanelli & Carmarthen, SA14 8QF

Contract: 10 months fixed-term/secondment until 31/03/2026, full-time (37.5 hours/week), part-time considered

Salary: £37,898 - £45,637 per annum (pro-rata for part-time), Band 6

Role Overview

This fixed-term/secondment role focuses on working with older adults to improve mental health in hospital settings. The team provides care in emergency and general hospitals, supporting early detection, assessments, risk management, and education on mental health issues, especially delirium. Opportunities for development and training are available.

Requirements
  • Registered Mental Health Nurse with experience working with older adults preferred
  • Ability to undertake assessments, risk management, and provide education
  • Desirable: Welsh language skills (Level 1), experience in liaison or multi-agency mental health work, interest in delirium, training in psychological interventions, experience with substance misuse
