Job Description:

The primary purpose of this role is to lead the operational delivery of the voluntary sector’s contribution to Open Mental Health (OMH) in South Somerset.

This is provisionally a part-time role (29.5 hrs/week) but this can be flexible for the right person.

The role would ideally be based in Wincanton or Yeovil (Mind offices) as it manages a team of 12 and will need to be onsite to support them as necessary.

Main aim:

You will collaborate with Somerset NHS Foundation Trust, the local authority, and the voluntary sector to provide effective mental health support within the region.

Additionally, you will work alongside partners in other areas of the county to develop a unified and consistent locality model for mental health services.

Whilst this is predominantly a management position, there will be opportunities to take on some caseload should you wish.

Your main focus will be on:

  • The day-to-day line management and support of a team of Recovery and Wellbeing Workers, who provide both general and specialist support.
  • Building strong working relationships with the NHS and Local Authority, voluntary sector partners (Mind, 2ndStep..) and the local community to ensure your team can be effective in helping those who need it.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • A strong clinical and social knowledge of mental health, with a strong understanding of the factors that influence mental wellbeing.
  • Experience in managing teams (in our out of the healthcare space).
  • Ideally degree educated in Psychology/Medicine/Mental Health or similar or have a background working in Talking Therapies/Community Mental Health/CAMHS.

BHL is operating as an extension of The Balsam Centre on a charitable basis to support their ability to recruit the best talent.
