Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mental Health Clinical Lead to join our Mental Health team at HMP Stocken, a category C Prison located in East Midlands.

HMP Stocken has just opened a new wing and now has a capacity of 1285 males.

Hours: This role is a permanent role working 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday.

Salary: This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £55,996 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Mental Health Clinical Lead, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

  • Provide clinical leadership and management to the registered nurses and care teams
  • Deputise on behalf of the Deputy/Head of Healthcare when required
  • Work closely with partners to maintain a robust, high-quality clinical service for patients
  • Ensure that your clinical practice is consistent with autonomous practice within the role
  • Model a culture of compassion, care, courage, commitment, communication, and competence.
  • Coach, line manage, and develop clinician staff; support and contribute to undertaking audits and governance and contribute to developing and reviewing clinical/non-clinical Local Operating Protocols for the site
  • Chair and facilitate specific healthcare meetings with the team and different partners, provide clinical supervision (training available) and carry out investigations locally and for the wider region.

Qualifications required
  • RMN, Social Worker (Mental Health) or Occupational Therapist (Mental Health)
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development
  • Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working
  • Existing line management experience and student nurse mentorship

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
