NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff across clinical and non-clinical roles. We provide acute hospital, primary, community, and mental health services to over 1.15 million people, extending to 2.2 million with regional and national services.
We have two permanent, full-time positions (37 hours/week) available, with shifts from Monday to Sunday, including day and night shifts.
These roles are for Band 6 Charge Nurses on McNair ward, an adult mental health admission ward, and the IPCU (Intensive Psychiatric Care Unit) at Gartnavel Royal. Our focus is on delivering safe, effective care while respecting patient dignity and supporting staff wellbeing.
Applicants should have significant experience at Band 5 or above, with leadership skills to support the Senior Charge Nurse and motivate a team of registered and non-registered nurses. Confidence to lead in the absence of the Senior Charge Nurse is essential.
Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and computer literacy are required. The role involves liaising with statutory and non-statutory agencies and forming strong working relationships across clinical and non-clinical teams.
You will participate in a hospital pager rota and work collaboratively with service users, carers, and staff. Treating people with dignity and respect is paramount.
