Mental Health Care Assistant on Nights – Join Our Compassionate Team!

Are you passionate about supporting individuals with Mental Health conditions? At our care home offers 24-hour specialist nursing care for adults with complex physical and mental health needs. As a Mental Health Care Assistant, you’ll be a key member of our care team, ensuring that each resident feels safe, supported, and valued.

What You’ll Do

  • Specialist Support: Provide care tailored to residents with mental health conditions, promoting emotional well-being and a sense of security.
  • Empower Independence: Assist residents with daily routines, encouraging positive choices and maintaining their independence.
  • Personalized Care: Follow individualized care plans, offering thoughtful, hands-on support for their specific needs.
  • Mental Health Awareness: Recognize and respond to changes in residents’ mental well-being, reporting concerns to the Nurse or Clinical Deputy Manager.
  • Champion Dignity: Ensure every resident is treated with dignity and respect, fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Social Engagement: Promote meaningful social interactions, encouraging residents to participate in activities and connect with others.
  • Safety & Wellbeing: Support residents in maintaining a safe and comfortable environment, responding promptly to any concerns or emergencies.
  • Nutritional Support: Assist residents who require help with meals, ensuring their nutritional and hydration needs are met.
  • Spread Positivity: Bring a compassionate and uplifting presence to the home, making a real difference in residents' daily lives.

About You

  • Experience: At least 6 months of experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, ideally within a care setting.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred.
  • Passion: A deep commitment to supporting individuals with mental health needs and enhancing their quality of life.
  • Skills: Strong communication, patience, and the ability to build trusting relationships with residents and colleagues.
  • Teamwork: A collaborative approach, ensuring residents receive the best possible care in a supportive environment.
