Teaching Assistant for Children with Mental Health Needs - Bristol

  • Start ASAP
  • 90 - 125 per day, depending on experience
  • Full-time, Monday - Friday 8.30am to 4pm
  • Term time only
  • Bristol - BS16
  • Ideal for Psychology/Counselling Graduates

A school that specialises in accommodating children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs is looking for Teaching Assistants to support children with behavioural and mental health issues.

  • Working with SEN students aged 8 to 18 to support their wellbeing and personal development.
  • Work alongside the therapists and psychologists based on-site at school.
  • Build frontline, practical experience with young people with significant SEMH needs.
  • Gain invaluable experience working with Special Needs such as Autism and ADHD.

The right candidate:

  • Graduates who have qualified in Psychology, Counselling or Criminology OR a good education background (GCSE's in Maths and English) plus prior experience as a Teaching Assistant for children with mental health issues.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with SEMH.
  • Resilient and confident to work with challenging behaviour.
