Job Description:

We are seeking a Graduate for the role of Mental Health Assistant at a specialist school in Wantage that caters to children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health Needs. This role is ideal for graduates in Psychology, Counselling, Criminology, or related fields, with relevant experience considered. The position involves supporting children aged 4 to 11 with behaviour and mental health challenges, working alongside trained therapists and psychologists. The role offers mentorship, shadowing opportunities, and invaluable experience with Special Needs and mental health issues. It is suitable for aspiring educational or occupational psychologists, therapeutic support workers, or SEN teachers.

The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, passion, and a proactive attitude, with resilience and confidence to handle challenging behaviour. Level 3 qualifications or a degree in a relevant field are preferred. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, with a daily rate of £80-£95, and is available for an immediate start or from September 2024.
