Aspiring Therapist role

Are you interested in supporting children with mental health issues in schools?

Would you like to build your experience working with complex needs and collaborate with trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists?

An outstanding specialist school for children with social and emotional mental health needs based in Slough is looking for a bright and enthusiastic Mental Health Assistant to support children with behavioural and mental health issues. Ideally, the Mental Health Assistant will be a graduate; relevant degrees include Psychology, Counselling, or Criminology, but other subjects will also be considered. A degree is not essential; candidates with relevant experience will also be considered. The SEN school is in Slough, and the role is full-time starting ASAP or in September 2023. The children are aged 4 to 11 and require consistent, ongoing support to ensure they receive high-quality, child-centered care.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to work alongside therapists and psychologists on-site at the school. You will be mentored, shadow sessions, and learn from professionals. This role offers invaluable experience working with special needs and mental health issues. It is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring educational or occupational psychologist, therapeutic support worker, or SEN teacher.
