Mental Health Assistant / SEN Teaching Assistant - Oxford
Aspiring Therapist Psychology/Counselling/Criminology Graduates
Start: ASAP 85- 100 per day Full-time Primary Phase

Are you a graduate looking to launch your career as a Mental Health Assistant and make a real difference in children's lives?

A leading specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) school in Oxford is seeking a full-time Mental Health Assistant to support children aged 4-11 with complex needs, emotional regulation difficulties, and behavioural challenges.

This role is perfect for Psychology, Counselling or Criminology graduates hoping to gain hands-on experience as a Mental Health Assistant before progressing into therapy, SEN teaching, or educational psychology.



As a Mental Health Assistant, you will:

  • Provide one-to-one and group support for children with SEMH, trauma, and behavioural difficulties

  • Work closely with therapists, psychologists and other Mental Health Assistants

  • Build therapeutic relationships and deliver child-centred support

  • Observe clinical interventions and receive valuable mentoring
