A relief full-time opportunity exists for a Mental Health and Substance Use (MHSU) Crisis Response Clinician | RCMP Liaison to join the welcoming Mental Health and Substance Use team at the Rocky Mountain Lodge in Cranbrook, B.C. This relief position is until the return of the incumbent.

We are seeking a self-directed candidate with past and/or current counselling experience, group facilitation experience, good working knowledge and experience in Mental Health & Substance Use, and general competency in concurrent disorders. The successful candidate will have extensive understanding and knowledge of the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of clients, their families, and communities. Knowledge of Indigenous communities and resources, especially in the Kootenay areas, is highly desirable.
The Counselling & Treatment Clinician functions as a member of the Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) healthcare team and a specific MHSU multi-disciplinary team. The role ensures that individuals with serious acute mental health issues and/or problematic substance use have access to timely, evidence-based short-term treatment and clinical support across available services.
The Clinician provides assessment, treatment, service coordination, and urgent response at an advanced practice level, often working with clients with co-occurring disorders and serious functional impairments across various life domains.
The role involves utilizing specialized treatment modalities for individuals, groups, and families.
Shift times are from 08:30 to 16:30 hours.
