A fantastic Alternative Provision in Bracknell is currently recruiting for a Mental Health and Behaviour Support role. The provision caters to children and young adults who have been excluded from mainstream education or are in transition to a specialist setting. Many students have experienced trauma, have SEN, behavioural disorders, or other mental health issues. The role involves mentoring, teaching, and supporting young people struggling to access education.
This position is suitable for graduates or experienced teaching assistants looking to develop their experience with SEN and behavioural needs. A degree graded 2:2 or above is preferred, along with some experience working with SEN children. The role involves working 1:1 with pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour, including mental health difficulties, challenging behaviour, and learning disabilities such as Autism. Degrees in Psychology and Criminology are of particular interest.
The ideal candidate will be confident, dedicated, enthusiastic, and passionate about contributing to a child's education. Excellent behaviour management skills are desirable, and restraint training is a plus. The role offers the opportunity to work alongside trained therapists, psychologists, and other professionals in the education and mental health fields.
