Mental Health Act Co-ordinator

Mental Health Act Co-ordinator required for a busy Mental Health Act department based in Priority House Hospital, Maidstone.

The post holder must have knowledge of working with the Mental Health Act legislation and the Code of Practice and be fully aware of the administration and legislation involved.

Main duties of the job
  1. Scrutinise section paperwork
  2. Ensure deadlines are met regarding patient appeals and reviews
  3. Liaise with all professionals and provide advice on the Mental Health Act
  4. Provide training to all professionals on the Mental Health Act
  5. Manage a Mental Health Act Administrator and guide them through the processes of the legislation

Person Specification
Experience of the Mental Health Act
  • At least 2 years of experience working with the MHA
Knowledge and Skills

  • Good understanding of NHS systems
