Role Summary

We are recruiting a Band 7 Mental Capacity Act Team Lead (MCA) across Royal Devon. We are recruiting to this exciting and challenging role in which the successful applicant will act as the permanent designated Trust-wide Lead for the Mental Capacity Act 2005 in Royal Devon. We are inviting applications from Allied Health Professionals, Nurses or those with a social work background.

The ultimate aim of the post is to assist the Trust in its aim to improve and maintain compliance with the MCA. It is essential that you have an extensive knowledge and experience of using the Mental Capacity Act. You will be working closely with clinicians and managers at all levels providing remote and face to face training and devising other resources to ensure that the Trust is able to meet the increased demands of LPS and the wider challenges that the MCA is designed to meet.

You will be a source of advice in relation to MCA matters and act as a point of contact when the Trust is involved in any Court of Protection cases. There will be working with the acute hospital, community hospitals and children’s services in the Trust. You will be required to develop, deliver and support the MCA/LPS practitioners and provide training for staff at all levels. You will be required to provide credible analysis of the Trust’s compliance with the MCA.

Working Pattern: Monday, Tuesday and one other preferred day. Office hours.
