Qualifications

Now Hiring: Men’s 1st Team Head Coach - Newbury and Thatcham Hockey Club

Help shape the future of a performance-driven, community-powered club

A vibrant, competitive club with a strong record in mid-tier leagues (Grade 3). We’re seeking an experienced, committed coach to lead our Men’s 1st Team and help drive the squad and wider club to new heights.

Driven by passionate volunteers, we offer a welcoming, inclusive, and development-focused environment, with a strong junior-to-senior pathway backed by a mix of emerging and seasoned players.

Lead our Men’s 1st Team (South Central Div 1 North) toward promotion
Design and deliver progressive training programmes for 1st & 2nd teams
Collaborate with the Men’s Club Captain on objectives, selection, and junior integration
Coach weekly (Tues eves) + matchdays (Saturdays)
Run pre-season from 1st Sept – warmups, training, talent spotting
Host team meetings & support with match analysis
Attend 1 club-wide session per month to mentor volunteer coaches


What You’ll Bring
England Hockey qualifications (Level 3 preferred)
