Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Plymouth is seeking a motivated MEMS inertial sensor researcher within the Technology Development team. The role focuses on advancing MEMS sensors, data analysis, and experimental investigations, with guidance from an experienced team.

Candidates should hold a physics or engineering degree; MATLAB experience; and an ability to innovate. The position offers hybrid work, learning opportunities, and exposure to cutting-edge sensor technologies in civil and defence markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Physics, Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic Engineering.
• Post-graduate degree not essential; role will benefit from it.
• Experience with data analysis tools (MATLAB).
• Demonstrable ability to innovate and generate ideas.

Responsibilities

• Planning and execution experimental investigations.
• Analysis of performance data and interpretation of results.
• Assist with project planning and delivery of technical work packages.
• Tracking and reporting of technical status on allocated tasks.
• Generation and configuration of relevant documents (e.g. target performance specs).
• Participation in brainstorming, problem solving and ideas generation events.
