Make UK Defence, a leading business support and representative organisation within the defence & security manufacturing sector, is seeking a Membership Manager to serve as an ambassador in the North East of England.

As Regional Membership Manager, you will play a vital role in supporting the commercial, business, and economic interests of Make UK Defence members. You will foster relationships with relevant stakeholders while developing strategies to identify, secure, and retain working business relationships.

By engaging with our members, you will strengthen their relationships with Make UK and raise awareness of our broader commercial and business support offerings. This position is instrumental in enhancing Make UK Defence's presence and reputation across the region.

Responsibilities:

Member Engagement and Retention:

  • Design and implement a program of member engagement activities in collaboration with the wider team.
  • Work closely with the membership team to organize events and webinars regionally and nationally.
  • Lead local member connect activities and regional meetings.
  • Ensure timely regional communication to enhance member awareness.
  • Develop a member engagement plan, including site visits as required.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure member satisfaction and accurate records.
  • Retain members and encourage subscription upgrades to other Make UK services.
  • Engage in external communications through social media and traditional channels to promote Make UK member interests.

Business Development:

  • Identify and recruit new Make UK Defence members to achieve team targets for new business acquisition and growth.
  • Develop and implement a strategy to engage with non-members and create new member opportunities.
  • Lead and organize lead generation events for members and non-member targets.
  • Generate leads and raise awareness for the wider Make UK business
  • Support the Commercial team in identifying partnership opportunities.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Excel, and Word
  • Strong customer focus and excellent communication skills
  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Working knowledge of the local economy desirable

Experience:

  • Previous Membership / Account Management / Business Development experience
  • Marketing experience is desirable
  • Customer and/or member care experience
