We’re seeking a dynamic, creative Member Engagement Manager to lead how we connect with our community and share our story. As a new role, this is a rare opportunity to shape strategy, bring bold ideas to life, and make a real impact. You’ll need to work independently, think innovatively, and keep the team connected to ensure an integrated, collaborative approach.
£40-45,000 per annum, pro rata or equivalent day rate, depending on experience

This is a 12-month fixed term position in the first instance, for 30 hours per week (subject to negotiation and review), during usual office hours and working remotely.
Occasional travel to, and attendance at, face-to-face events in the UK will be required.
A laptop and monitor can be provided.
The post-holder will not be employed directly by UKCPA but will be engaged as a freelancer / contractor / consultant.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We are seeking a dynamic and creative Member Engagement Manager to drive connection, engagement, and communication across our community. This is a new role for our organisation, offering a unique opportunity for the right person to make a meaningful impact.
You’ll be at the heart of how we engage with members and how they engage with us, how we tell our story, and how we highlight the incredible work being done across our community. We are open to exploring innovative and creative strategies to achieve our goals, and we welcome someone who brings experience, insight, and new ideas.
You’ll need to be highly self-motivated and able to work independently. At the same time, you’ll play a key role in keeping the team informed and aligned, ensuring your work contributes to an integrated, cohesive approach across the organisation.
This role spans the full spectrum of member engagement—from shaping strategy and creating impactful content, to supporting events, managing logistics, and handling day-to-day admin. As part of a small, hands-on team, you'll need to be comfortable working at both a creative and practical level to bring plans to life and keep things running smoothly.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Content creation & communications
o Craft clear, compelling, and on-brand content for newsletters, websites, reports, social media, and other channels.
o Develop messaging and campaigns that articulate the value of membership.
o Write stories that spotlight our impact, initiatives, and people.
o Work across our team to identify opportunities to create and repurpose content in a variety of ways.
o Design and execute strategies to increase visibility and engagement.
o Manage social media channels with a strategic and engaging voice.
o Analyse engagement metrics and adjust strategies to optimise impact.
o See your content come to life through communications with members, uploading content to websites, forums, and social media channels, and at face-to-face events.
o Improve members’ engagement with our forums, webinars, and other events and opportunities, to foster community and knowledge sharing.
o Support our committees to deliver their commitments, linking in with other members of the team to join the dots.
o Support our committees to ensure engaged and effective working practices.
o Promote and enhance member benefits to support recruitment and retention, through online and in-person opportunities.
o Celebrate member and committee achievements across our platforms.
o Support activities related to professional development for members, including managing and nurturing our expert committees, the development and dissemination of guidelines, standards, and other educational resources.
