The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh is an independent membership organisation dedicated to the education, training and advancement of surgeons, dental surgeons, doctors, and various individuals throughout healthcare who are involved in the surgical care of patients. Position

Reporting to the Membership Engagement Manager the Membership Engagement Officer will provide a plan for engaging with members through events and communications at every stage of their membership and career journey, ensuring that the range of benefits we offer is compelling and meets their needs at each stage.

The Membership Engagement Officer will demonstrate experience of looking after members in a membership organisation. They will have experience of tailoring events and communications to meet the needs of their audience.

Requirements

You will excel in this role if you have an interest in membership organisations and understanding why people join and why people stay a member.

As a persuasive communicator, you will be poised with tools and techniques to convince someone of all of the benefits of retaining their membership. You’ll be interested in the communications they receive and be comfortable digging into the data to see how campaigns are performing.

Likewise, you’ll have experience of the membership lifecycle to be checking in with members and ensuring they’ve had a warm welcome as well as helping them understand their options if they’re looking to progress to the next stage.
