We are recruiting for a Members Support Officer to join the Leader’s Office team. You will play a vital role in supporting the Leader, Deputy Leader, and Chair of Overview with executive coordination, casework, and developing policy. Working closely with senior officers and councillors, you will ensure that senior councillors are well-supported, connected, and able to drive forward their portfolios effectively.
We are looking for someone who is politically astute, highly organised, and confident operating in a fast-paced environment. You will be comfortable working closely with senior politicians and officers and able to manage complex, sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
You do not need to have worked in local government before but you will need to demonstrate a clear understanding of how local government operates in a political, financial, and legislative context, and a strong commitment to public service. An interest in politics and current affairs would be an advantage.
