This role offers a rewarding opportunity to deliver a responsive, efficient, and customer-focused service to scheme members and employer bodies.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day leadership and management of the benefits team, ensuring a high-quality service is delivered in line with the Fund’s Administration Strategy.

Support the team’s development by enhancing their knowledge of pension scheme rules, legislation, and regulatory guidance.

Act as the escalation point for complex or non-standard member queries, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with service targets.

Contribute to the wider management team, supporting service development, legislative change, and key Fund projects.

Requirements:

  • Strong leadership and team management experience within a pensions or benefits administration environment.
  • A thorough understanding of public sector pension schemes (ideally LGPS) and associated legislation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate complex information clearly.
  • A commitment to service improvement and delivering outcomes that benefit members and stakeholders.
