Job information Member Services & Finance Assistant from the Scottish Police Credit Union Ltd. This Member Services & Finance Assistant vacancy is based in Hybrid work in Glasgow, United Kingdom. Job Responsibilities:
  1. Job Title: Member Services and Finance Assistant
  2. Location: Baillieston, Glasgow
  3. Reports To: Member Services and Business Development Team Leader
  4. Purpose: Support the team in delivering financial services and products to SPCU members.
  5. Key Responsibilities:
    1. Set up new membership accounts and assist members with onboarding and online activation.
    2. Review and process loan applications, including credit checks and data entry.
    3. Provide financial advice regarding debt and liaise with financial advisory partners if needed.
    4. Handle various financial transactions such as insurance claims, direct debits, and share withdrawals.
    5. Respond to member queries and provide support.
    6. Validate payrolls and ensure accurate deductions.
    7. Maintain records of payment breaks and conduct monthly loan reviews.
    8. Update anti-money laundering databases and monitor petty cash.
    9. Participate in meetings and assist auditors.
    10. Review and improve processes for efficiency and accuracy.
    11. Coordinate with the SPCU Fire Marshal and support external events.
    12. Follow financial policies and perform other duties as required.
  6. Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
    1. Essential: Good communication, ability to work under pressure, customer-focused attitude, attention to detail, proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.
    2. Desirable: Higher Grade/SVQ 2 education or equivalent, credit union principles, payroll and loan assessment experience, industry knowledge.
  7. Conditions: Post subject to vetting, evening/weekend meetings may be required, no driving license needed.
  8. Details: Full-time, permanent, from £26,666/year, benefits include pension, on-site parking, work from home. Schedule: Monday-Friday, weekend availability.
