Job Responsibilities:
- Job Title: Member Services and Finance Assistant
- Location: Baillieston, Glasgow
- Reports To: Member Services and Business Development Team Leader
- Purpose: Support the team in delivering financial services and products to SPCU members.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Set up new membership accounts and assist members with onboarding and online activation.
- Review and process loan applications, including credit checks and data entry.
- Provide financial advice regarding debt and liaise with financial advisory partners if needed.
- Handle various financial transactions such as insurance claims, direct debits, and share withdrawals.
- Respond to member queries and provide support.
- Validate payrolls and ensure accurate deductions.
- Maintain records of payment breaks and conduct monthly loan reviews.
- Update anti-money laundering databases and monitor petty cash.
- Participate in meetings and assist auditors.
- Review and improve processes for efficiency and accuracy.
- Coordinate with the SPCU Fire Marshal and support external events.
- Follow financial policies and perform other duties as required.
- Experience, Skills, and Qualifications:
- Essential: Good communication, ability to work under pressure, customer-focused attitude, attention to detail, proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Desirable: Higher Grade/SVQ 2 education or equivalent, credit union principles, payroll and loan assessment experience, industry knowledge.
- Conditions: Post subject to vetting, evening/weekend meetings may be required, no driving license needed.
- Details: Full-time, permanent, from £26,666/year, benefits include pension, on-site parking, work from home. Schedule: Monday-Friday, weekend availability.
