Job summary

Chelmsford Star Co-operative Society is seeking a flexible, multi-skilled store colleague to assist customers and contribute to community-focused service. You will be part of a supportive team delivering everyday retail excellence across checkouts, shop floor duties, and store operations.

No prior experience is required; full training provided. The role offers variable shifts including evenings and weekends, with opportunities to grow within a cooperative environment and become a valued member

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; willing to learn and friendly personality.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is a plus.
• Good communication and customer service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Handle checkouts and assist customers on the shop floor.
• Support housekeeping and stock management on the shop floor.
• Perform date code checks and temperature checks as part of daily duties.
• Assist with administration tasks and basic store operations.
• Contribute to in-store bakery duties when required.
• Promote membership benefits and community engagement.
