Job summary

Co-operatives UK in Manchester is seeking a Member Relations Officer to support the membership strategy, recruit and retain members, and promote benefits. You will be the first point of contact for member enquiries and help grow a thriving cooperative community.

This full-time, hybrid role requires a passion for values-based organisations, strong interpersonal skills, and careful record keeping. Salary £28,791 per year, with interviews in Manchester.

Qualifications

• Experience handling public or customer enquiries in a membership context.
• Interest in values-based organisations such as co-operatives.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; promote products and benefits.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Implement membership and engagement strategy with the team.
• Recruit, retain and grow member groups and relationships.
• Understand member needs and subscription services.
• Promote membership benefits and income-generating services.
• Support member engagement at events, online, and via personal contact.
• Maintain member records and CRM reporting.
• Provide a meaningful first year journey for new and returning members.
• Escalate complex queries to the Membership Manager as needed.
