Member Events Programming Manager - Brighton
Soho House is seeking a Members Events Programming Manager to report to the UK Head of Events, responsible for the curation, organisation, and management of the Members Events program within Brighton Beach House.
This role offers an exciting, varied, and rewarding opportunity for someone with exceptional creativity, cultural understanding, and organisation skills. It suits an independent worker who can operate remotely and collaborate closely with the UK Members Events team, as well as the membership, content, and operational teams at the Houses.
Main Duties:
- Design, plan, and execute unique monthly Members Events within Brighton House, leveraging the existing membership network, personal contacts, and new connections.
- Maintain a varied, original, and appealing Members Events calendar for Local and Every House members, including live music, talks, comedy, supper clubs, parties, workshops, and innovative formats.
- Collaborate with content and live rooms teams to optimise events for both in-person and digital audiences.
- Ensure strong organisational presence at events and delegate tasks to the membership and communications teams as needed.
- Organise and plan all events in line with quarterly deadlines, including preparing promotional copy and photos for members.
- Assist with membership duties such as gathering feedback and covering evening or weekend shifts.
- Work with the Private Hire Manager and operational team to ensure spaces are booked and event sheets are prepared in advance.
- Produce timelines and risk assessments in collaboration with the H&S team.
- Occasionally work weekends and holidays for larger events and special occasions like Halloween, NYE, and summer parties.
- Stay informed on current and future trends to keep events engaging for a diverse, creative audience.
- Maintain cultural awareness across all content pillars.
- Collaborate with other Members Events Managers and the UK and global Membership and Communication Teams to share ideas and concepts.
- Attend committee and weekly team meetings to gather feedback and report on event progress.
- Prepare monthly budgets detailing expenditures for all events, including large-scale productions.
What We Are Looking For:
- Proven experience demonstrating creativity, operational management, and event programming skills.
- Knowledge of Brighton's cultural scene.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in event curation within the cultural industries.
- Proficiency with Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by events.
- A keen interest in cultural events outside work.
- Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and remain resilient.
- Hospitality or live events experience is advantageous.
- Experience with digital content and streaming is advantageous.
