Job summary

IWS Mechanical & Electrical is seeking an experienced Project Engineer (M&E) to deliver mechanical and electrical projects on water and wastewater sites across the UK. You will manage safety, quality, and performance throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

The role requires proven delivery within UK water or wastewater environments, hands-on governance of scopes, programmes, RAMS, and contractor performance, plus strong communication with stakeholders at

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Proven project delivery experience within the UK water or wastewater industry.
• Experience on treatment works, pumping stations, networks or water/wastewater infra.
• Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and NEC contracts.
• Excellent organisational, planning and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit or Inventor; MS Office.
• Strong communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Full UK driving licence; regular site travel.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical and electrical projects across water and wastewater sites.
• Develop scopes, requirements, resources, and programmes.
• Ensure safety, compliance and performance through the lifecycle.
• Lead HAZOP/HAZCOM, FAT, and SAT processes for water assets.
• Review RAMS and manage supplier and subcontractor performance.
• Close-out defects and promote a strong safety culture.
