Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in water and wastewater industry.
  • Level 7 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.

Description
Role:
MEICA Project Engineer
Location:
Covering projects throughout Munster, including Co. Limerick, Co. Cork, and Co. Kerry.
Salary:
Competitive
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of a team in delivering multiple projects, embracing a “one team” culture.
  • Ensure adherence to Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards on-site.
  • Familiarity with HSQE management system and statutory requirements.
  • Provide coverage and manage day-to-day site operations in the absence of the project manager.
  • Understand project programme and budgets, and manage impacts of overruns.
  • Review, prepare, and submit Method Statements and Risk Assessments before work begins.
  • Ensure project quality, including FAT, SAT, ITRs, pressure testing, and commissioning are completed per the quality plan and Employer’s Requirements.
  • Prepare and submit project handover files, including O&M Manuals, Safety Files, and As Constructed Drawings.
  • Verify that design, materials, and workmanship meet specified requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers and subcontractors for project delivery, including vendor selection and procurement.
  • Liaise with consultants, subcontractors, site staff, and stakeholders.
  • Conduct weekly site meetings and plan the efficient, safe delivery of works.
  • Interact with employer representatives, stakeholders, and the public.
  • Monitor progress and adjust workflows to meet or beat deadlines.
  • Stay updated on standards and technology through CPD.
  • Show eagerness for learning and career progression, including mentoring junior staff.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in water and wastewater industry.
  • Level 7 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
  • Interest in advancing within a leading organization.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to meetings.
  • Experience engaging with suppliers and subcontractors during procurement and delivery.
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative during project execution.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, GPS, total station, and CAD.
  • Strong communication skills and motivation.
  • Full driving license.
