Job summary

STRABAG SE is seeking an experienced MEICA Manager to oversee mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems for major UK infrastructure projects, including tunnel work in the North West.

You will design, manage, coordinate and deliver MEICA throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring safety, quality, budget and programme adherence, with a proven track record on large projects and familiarity with NEC3/NEC4 contracts.

Qualifications

• Mechatronics/MEICA focus required with experience on major UK infrastructure projects.
• Proven track record as MEICA Manager on large scale schemes.
• Knowledge of safety, budgeting and programme delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design coordination with design teams for technical specs.
• Oversee installation, testing and commissioning of MEICA assets.
• Lead procurement and management of specialist MEICA subcontractors.
• Manage integration of heavy pumping systems, MCCs, PLC/SCADA networks.

What matters to us

• Degree, HNC, or HND in Mechanical, Electrical, Control, Automation, or related Engineering discipline.
• Previous water industry experience (desirable).
• Proven track record as a MEICA Manager on major UK infrastructure projects.
• Excellent knowledge of high voltage/low voltage distribution, large scale pumping systems and automation architecture.
• Familiarity with manging packages under NEC3 or NEC4 contract conditions (desirable).

The purpose of the role is to design, manage, coordinate, and deliver mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems throughout a project's lifecycle, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, budget, and programme requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design Coordination: Collaborate with design teams to review and finalise technical specifications.
• Project Delivery: Oversee the installation, testing and commissioning of complex MEICA assets across tunnel/siphon interfaces, shaft structures and surface valve houses.
• Subcontractor Management: Lead procurement and management of specialist MEICA subcontractors, ensuring work is delivered safely, on time and within budget.
• System Integration: Manage the integration of heavy mechanical pumping systems, MCC's, PLC/SCADA networks and telemetry interfaces.
• Health and Safety Leadership: Ensure complete compliance with all CDM regulations, company health and safety standards and environmental requirements across all active sites.

Technical Knowledge

• PLC and SCADA systems.
• Instrumentation and control systems.
• UK electrical and safety regulations.
